Toei has recently announced a wrestling event of epic proportions. An event to end all wrestling events! I am referring, of course, to KINNIKUMANIA 2009, a wrestling event dedicated to the Kinnikuman anime and manga. The event will be held at the JCB Hall in Tokyo Dome City on May 29 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the comics. Tickets will be available in advance in early April, but only to readers of Weekly Playboy. Shonen Jump readers will have to buy tickets when they come out. Way to alienate your audience, Yudetamago. Takashi Shimada will be serving as chairman for the executive committee for the tournament, which is co-sponsored by Columbia Music Entertainment, Bandai, Bandai Namco Games, and Toei Video. Hopefully a DVD will be released, because I am NOT going on YouTube to watch only one match from the event in 2 to 3 parts. Anyway, rejoice, Japanese Kinniku-Fans, because you're all very lucky. Let's hope that the fighters use the character themes for whoever they're fighting as... Let's also hope that Terryman and Terry the Kid are played by people who actually look like they're from the United Staes, no offense to anyone reading.
